Nikos Korovesis Interview

The PAS Giannina midfielder Nikos Korovesis replied to the fans' questions in his exclusive interview for the official website of the Super League and pointed out that "Giannina is a gorgeous city, with many things to do and nice people. PAS Giannina is more than a club for me because they supported me and offered me the opportunity to prove what I can do." At the same time he underlined that "This season things are not as we expected them, but the relationships between the players are excellent, we are like a family and we all face any problems together. I am satisfied with the fans because they always support our team, no matter the results."

How would you describe your 1.5 year in PAS Giannina? Are you satisfied by the support offered by the fans?

First year was excellent since we achieved a great success by participating in the playoffs. This season things are not as we expected them, but the relationships between the players are excellent, we are like a family and we all face any problems together. I am satisfied with the fans because they always support our team, no matter the results.

What is your opinion of the city of Ioannina and what does PAS Giannina mean to you?

It is a gorgeous city, with many things to do and nice people. PAS Giannina is more than a club for me because they supported me and offered me the opportunity to prove what I can do. This club will always have a place in my heart and I will appreciate what they offered me.

Our goal is to have the best possible display so to make our fans happy and conquer the best possible place in the classification list.

How did you feel when entering the Rizoupoli pitch to play against your former club?

This is a club I also helped get promoted to the B' National Division when playing for it. When I went to Rizoupoli, many fans expressed their love and gave me their best wishes thus recognising my offer to the club. This gave me great pleasure and offered me one of the biggest satisfactions a footballer can experience.

The PAS Giannina fans and supporters want to see the club participate in the European competitions. Do you believe you have a chance to participate in the playoffs?

Of course we have the chance since nothing has been determined yet. Besides, even the 6th place offers us the chance to participate in the European competitions.

What are the reasons behind the three consecutive losses of PAS Giannina, in your opinion?

Unfortunate results are part of football. The team weakened following some injuries and some missing players and was negatively affected by these facts.

 

The next match is away, against Atromitos Athinon. What should you pay attention to in order to win the match, in your opinion?

There is nothing special we should pay attention to. We just need to be focused and play with our soul during the whole match.

 

Who is the footballer that you would like to have as your teammate and who as an opponent and why?

I would wish to have Gerrard as my teammate because he has huge passion in every match and can carry the whole team on his shoulders. And I would wish to play against Maicon to see what I can do against such a gifted player.

 

What are your hobbies?

I watch films and spend time with my friends.

 

What is the most important goal you have scored and why?

It was the goal I scored against AEK last season in Zosimades since this goal gave us the opportunity to participate in the plyaoffs.
