Show Racism the Red Card! Super League participates in the European FARE and UEFA campaign against racism.

Super League/OPAP 9th Matchday, which will be played this Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 26, 27 and 28 October respectively, is dedicated for the seventh consecutive year to the European campaign against racism, implemented by FARE (Football Αgainst Racism in Europe), under the auspices of UEFA and the European Union.

The president of Super League, Mr Yannis Moralis, said:

"Football is the ideal ambassador for the message of solidarity towards vulnerable social groups and of the right to be different. In this highly crucial period, given the financial crisis as well as the social problems augmented as a result of it, this initiative of the organising authority - in conjunction with FARE and under the auspices of UEFA and the European Union - for the seventh consecutive season, helps Greeks and immigrants accept diversity through the most popular sport, football. We send positive messages to all ages and social strata: Football says no to racism and any type of discrimination!  During these arduous times for our society, it is a positive step to promote initiatives aiming at reconciling and alleviating differences, by utilising the enormous appeal of football in our country. Super League supports the right to diversity for everyone and for another year supports FARE's awareness campaign, under the auspices of UEFA and the European Union."

In the framework of raising awareness to football fans, red cards will be given to fans in all stadia bearing the motto "Show racism the red card!", while, at the same time, during line-up all players and their player escorts were wearing colourful shirts with messages against discrimination and racism.
