Super League goes… to school showcasing Fair Play

Super League, in the frame of its Corporate Social Responsibility activities, starts the implementation of a pilot information and awareness programme on the concept of Fair Play and promoting behaviour showcasing it.

The programme's objective is to inform and raise the awareness of secondary school students on the values of fair play, respect towards teammates and opponents, and the participation without discriminations.  The programme will be joined in its initial pilot phase by schools in the municipalities of Attica, aiming at expanding it to the remaining cities of the clubs participating in the Super League championship.

The implementation of the programme will begin at the end of March and will last for about a month. It will include a one school hour meeting, preferably during the physical education class, with the students of each class at all schools.

During the meeting, there will be a presentation of the programme's content by an instructor with the aid of a projector, whereas at the end of the presentation students will be provided with information material, in the form of a leaflet, containing elements of the programme.

The programme will be implemented by specialised scientists-psychologists-sports psychologists. At the same time, the school information programme will also be joined by footballers playing in the Super League clubs, who will support this endeavour. Following the completion of the action plan throughout schools, Super League will hold a meeting with the participation of esteemed athletes-speakers who will express their opinion and support on the fair conduct on the pitch.

The president of Super League, Mr Giannis Moralis, said: "Super League unanimously decided during today's Board meeting to support the Fair Play pilot programme aiming at bringing information and awareness to school students, who are future fans, athletes and citizens. As part of Super League's Social Responsibility programme, we implement another "opening" to society, thereby wishing to point out the paramount role of football, as a social activity in shaping a code of values. Fair play is a fundamental value in football and children are the most apt recipients of positive messages aiming at uniting and not dividing them."
