The full interview:
We have three matchdays left for the end of the 1st round. What is your impression from this season's championship?
"I believe that in this season's championship we have clubs doing their best based on Greek players, something that had not happened for many years. This is the reason why we have seen several young players having participation time even in clubs that usually do not give them time. This is a positive step and something that was missing…"
What is your opinion on the club's presence so far?
"The presence of my club so far is utterly satisfying. However, best is the enemy of good and we still have a long way ahead of us and we have to give much more based on our potential."
What was the goal set by the club at the beginning of the season?
"Our goal was and still is to avoid relegation. Our effort is huge and we have made tremendous improvement, something that will lead us to our goal that remains essential for the viability of the club."
Has this goal changed following the positive results?
"Following the positive results, we make sure to move steadily so as to play better football based on our potential and on what the coach asks from us. As long as we do this and we achieve something better, we will of course be happy about it."
What is the key reason behind your presence this season, in your opinion?
"Our presence this year is due on the one hand to the really hard work done by all – players and coaches – and on the other hand to the family feeling fostered in the club. This gives us joy and will to handle the harsh future."
What do you think went wrong in the match against Asteras where you lost?
"In Tripoli, we played against a really good club. We were unlucky and we conceded a goal early in the match and we were losing 2-0 in the half time. We did not give up the match and played the best we could for 90 minutes, we believed we could turn the match and even though we did not succeed, we are proud of our effort."
What was this that led you to your decision to play for Panionios for the 2nd time?
"I have said before that I am bonded to Panionios because this is where I took my fist "steps" in the First National Division. Therefore, the decision to come to this great club was easy and I am proud to be part of Panionios."
What are the differences in the club now and then (2006-2009)?
"We are dealing with two different clubs and two different times… The financial situation was better back then and I believe that if the club had the same financial possibility now, combined with the work and the effort in all areas, we would be even better."
Would you wish to remain in the club the following season as well?
"I am totally satisfied on a playing level from my club and my coach. I enjoy every training session and also enjoy playing football here. I literally enjoy football with Dimitris Eleftheropoulos as my coach."
What would you like to say to the fans and supporters of the club?
"The fans and supporters are by our side and the only thing we need is for them to keep supporting us. Their love for the club is a given and this is what keeps us going through every hardship."
What are your hobbies?
"I watch movies and talk with my friends about football."
