Super League supports the campaign against racism
For the sixth consecutive year, in the framework of the European Week against racism and in cooperation with FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe) which works with UEFA and the European Union, Super League dedicates the 7th Matchday of the SUPER LEAGUE OPAP Championship, on October 20, 21 and 22, 2012, to the awareness of fans on the issue of Racism.
The president of Super League, Mr Giannis Moralis, said: "The organising authority supports this effort that aims at raising the awareness of fans regarding social issues concerning the whole of society. Football is the ideal ambassador for the message of solidarity towards vulnerable social groups and of the right to be different. Our goal is to remind fans that football knows no boundaries. People should not be segregated and isolated due to racial, religious or other criteria. During these arduous times for our society, it is a positive step to promote initiatives aiming at reconciling and alleviating differences, by utilising the enormous appeal of football in our country. By 'Showing Racism the Red Card', we send out a message of awareness to all fans."
